Although it might seem like we took last week off, readers, we really didn’t. We were working! We had to attend a meeting of Stephens Media LLC editors, which really takes a lot of concentration. We had to put out our annual Media Issue of CityLife, which is always involved. (Oh, by the way, our major apologies to former KTNV Channel 13 investigative reporter Glen Meek, who we unconscionably neglected to include on our list of media moves during the year. Totally our bad, since the multiple Emmy-winning Meek’s departure was a loss not only for Channel 13, but for Las Vegas journalism, too.) Heck, we even bought a sporty new car!
But that’s all in the past, readers. So, while we were away, did we miss anything?
What’s that? A gambling tax increase? The guy who signed off on the Rio’s remodeling was supervising the investigation into why he failed to do his job? The coal industry is gearing up for a PR war? And Turkey committed a genocide back in the early 1900s, which the House of Representatives is just now getting around to correcting?
Heck, that means there’s hope somebody will still "Remember the Maine"!
Anyway, we’ll get right to work on all that stuff, right now!
